Access Point of Care plays a crucial role in delivering care, enhancing wellness, and optimizing clinical outcomes. Access point of care partners with innovative laboratories and producers of health products for on site, in-home services that increase accessibility for rural, remote and hard-to-reach populations with the goal of promoting health equity and personal well-being.

Our Founder

Dr. Todd McMullen, MD PhD

Dr. Todd McMullen is a fellowship trained endocrine surgeon. His vision is to pioneer innovations that shift hospital-based treatments to personalized, home-based care that promote equity and autonomy.

Dr. McMullen’s academic background is in Biochemistry and Physiology. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Alberta, then completed a Medical Research Council of Canada Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Department of Physiology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. McMullen completed medical school at the University of Toronto with a residency in General Surgery at the University of Alberta followed by Endocrine Surgery at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, Australia, as the TS Reeve Fellow. He has published over 95 manuscripts with patents on translational research and clinical care delivery and completed laboratory and hospital surgical accreditations in Canada and USA.

Elisa Park Kim, Director

Elisa Park Kim (PMP) serves as Director of Partnerships. Elisa has twenty years of experience working in health care and post-secondary sectors leading innovation based projects. Elisa is an entrepreneurial thinker who leads an innovation based not-for-profit and endeavours to help Canadians get access to novel solutions for overall improved health.

Karen Matthews, Director of Quality

Karen has over 40 years experience in the laboratory world. Being an expert in quality management systems, she provides recommendations to meet legislative, regulatory and accreditation requirements from start-ups to specific projects.
